SAPI REST API connecting e-invoicing applications with the Peppol network and ERP or accounting systems.

SAPI REST API for Next-Generation e-Invoicing

A Standardised REST API for Peppol e-Invoicing

EDITEL Slovakia continues to expand its e-Invoicing and connectivity services with the introduction of a new REST API based on the Standardised Access Point Interface (SAPI) specification.

As a leading EDI and e-Invoicing service provider and an active Peppol Access Point in Slovakia, EDITEL has been closely involved in the national e-Invoicing initiative led by the Slovak Financial Administration. Within this project, our communication and e-Invoicing platform eXite® has been extended with native support for the SAPI interface, providing customers with a modern, standardised way to integrate their business applications with the Peppol network.

SAPI is a REST API specification developed to establish a common integration standard between Peppol Access Point providers and ERP or accounting software vendors. The specification includes standardised authentication, document submission, document retrieval, acknowledgements, and consistent error handling, creating a predictable and secure integration model for all participants.

As an active contributor to the Slovak e-Invoicing initiative, EDITEL participated in the SAPI working group from the beginning. Our analysts thoroughly reviewed the proposed specification, identified several areas for improvement, and provided feedback that contributed to discussions within the expert community.

Connecting ERP and Accounting Systems to Peppol through eXite®

We are now finalising the deployment of our own SAPI implementation. The new REST API will enable customers to easily and securely send and receive Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 invoices through the EDITEL eXite® network to Peppol network while benefiting from a standardised integration approach aligned with the national e-Invoicing initiative.

Customers interested in integrating via SAPI can rely on EDITEL throughout the entire onboarding process. We provide comprehensive API documentation, a dedicated testing environment, and technical support to help organisations prepare for e-Invoicing. For businesses that prefer alternative integration methods, EDITEL continues to offer its established communication channels and EDI connectivity solutions, ensuring that every customer can choose the integration approach that best fits their IT landscape.
